When do I need to book?

Congratulations on your pending new arrival!

Newborn images are best captured between 5-21 days. During this time baby is still very much womb like. They are sleepy, curly and bendy allowing me to pose them in the positions you see throughout my work.

I only book a limited amount of newborns per month, for this reason it is best to book your session from 12+ pregnancy. I have sessions that I leave open weekly purely for my pending arrivals to ensure I can get you into studio ASAP.

What if my baby has already arrived?

Don't panic! I understand as long as that 9 months of pregnancy feels it fly's by and before you know it your new arrival is in your arms! Capturing those early days is so important they change so fast.

Please do get in touch if baby has arrived as sessions do become available should a booked in pending baby be early/late. If your baby is past that 21 day window that is not an issue either, please reach out and I can discuss your options and manage expectations based on your own situation.

How do I book?

To book your session please contact us with your due date/babies age. Deposit for these sessions is £50/£99 once this is received you will pencilled in the diary for your due date and guaranteed a session with me within that optimal 5-21 day window.

Once baby has arrived please update me and we can schedule your session. Don't worry if baby is early/late I will have taken all this into account when your session was booked. If baby is very early/low birth weight I may suggest a delay for your session for babies safety.

What to expect from my newborn session?

Sessions last around 2 hours and include lots of props and posing baby. They take place in our cosy studio in Bromsgrove.

Prior to your session I will discuss your colour preferences and any special requests you may have for your session. The studio will be set up prior to your arrival.

What do I need need to bring?

I provide all the custom props and luxury handmade to fit outfits for your baby. All you need to bring is your new arrival!

On the morning of your session I will encourage you to stick to babies usual routine. If you are able to give baby a big feed just prior to your session and dress baby in easy to remove clothing this will ensure a smooth start to your session.

Please bring additional feeds for baby. Where possible please provide a dummy for baby, even if they don't usually have one this can really help settle them during your session and won't affect baby during the short 2 hours they may use it should you not wish them to have one.

What if my baby doesn't settle?

Rest assured your baby is in safe hands with me, I am trained in newborn safety, fully insured and registered with the guild of newborn photographers.

I work to a routine i've developed over my years of specialising in newborn photography. I have lot's of little tricks to get the very best from your session.

Can my other children take part?

YES! I always recommend getting older siblings involved! Depending on the session you choose I can talk you through adding sibling during your booking process.

As newborn sessions take place in the morning when baby is most settled I will sometimes ask siblings be brought back for a short session after school and separate to your newborn session.

What happens after my session?

If you agreed to social media sharing you can expect to see a short video of your new arrival on my social media for you to share a glimpse of your session with your friends and family!

Following your session there will be a 2-3 week wait whilst I prepare your gallery for viewing. Depending on your session will determine the next steps but from here you'll go on to choose your final images.

Once you have selected your images they will be professionally edited and ready for you to download in high resolution. Should you wish to I have a selection of beautiful wall art for you to showcase your beautiful baby!
